We made some progress in the bathroom this weekend! Robert came over and helped out on Saturday which was much appreciated! Robert cut while Casey laid the tile! The shower surround took a long time but on Sunday Casey and I laid the floor in a few hours! This weekend we plan to have it all grouted and put back together. We still need to get a vanity for it but as long as there is a toilet and a tub to wash off in I will be one happy girl! Nothing like tripping down the stairs in the middle of the night to make it to the bathroom!!!
Photos will be up soon!!

Updates
Well Casey and I have gotten back in the grove of working on the house. We had a guy come out and put knock down in our upstairs bathroom. I painted it yesterday and we should be tiling it this weekend!! I sure hope it looks good!!!
Casey has started his started is MBA. He is taking two courses at UIS on Monday and Wednesday nights. We think that it will take him about 18 months to finish the program. Then he will be making the big bucks!!! Hey a girl can dream! I am finishing up the silly classes I need this semester before I head to UIS as well for teaching. I will also take the Basic skills test this fall. I sure hope I pass... reading comp in not my strong point!
We bought our tickets home for Christmas and are super excited about it. We will be spending Dec. 20th to 28th in Sac and the 28th to the 1st in SD! I can’t wait to see family! Speaking of family, my grandparents are coming down to visit over thanksgiving! This will be their first time seeing our house! I can’t wait!!
Well More to come later…I’ll post some pictures up of the bathroom!

We're Back!!

Well we survived Mexico with no sign of the Swine flu! Lol We had a GREAT time! We arrived Tuesday June 23rd to a nice sunny and a bit humid Cancun! We went through a travel agency this time so we had a non-stop flight and a Van ready to take us there. It was funny because our good friends Carrie and Greg in-laws were on the same plane as us but staying at a different resort. Anyways, the hotel was very beautiful, and in the heart of the hotel zone so things were in walking distance. The ocean was gorgeous! So blue that it looked like a pool!! We went in it a few times but boy it is salty! Our hotel RIU Cancun had 4 pools and a swim up bar. The pools were infinity pools so they have seats at the end of them and you can over look the ocean! We loved that spot! On Friday we took a catamaran to Las Mujeres for a little shopping which we hate. Same junk you can get everywhere.. But then we went snorkeling! It was a national park and there were fish every where!! They got so close you though it you tried hard enough you could catch one! After snorkeling they took us to another little place and we had lunch and relaxed… buy the end of the day we were pooped and burnt to a crisp! We coated ourselves with sunscreen but it still got us. We were sad and happy at the same time to be heading home. The trip was great but we are thinking next vacation has to be Europe! Who’s in?!?!

Abigail is up in Heaven
We lost Abigail on May 31st at 9:47 pm. I developed Preeclampsia and HELLP. What this means is that my liver and Kidneys were failing. The only cure is the delivery of the baby. Abby was also measuring 3 weeks behind. The placenta was just not giving her enough nutrients. When she came out she had no heart beat and never took a breath. We truly believe that God does everything for a reason even if we do not understand that reason. Abigail is now in Heaven with many loved family members watching over us. We thank everyone for their kind thoughts and actions. We wouldn't be able to get through this if it wasn't for all of you!

It's been too long
Sorry I have not forgotten about our blog. Life has been a bit crazy. The visit with my Parents was wonderful! It was so nice to show my dad where we live. I felt bad because he and Casey didn’t get to do much of anything since they were working on the bathroom. They ended up getting the new tub in and it works great. Casey and I still need to do the rest but it shouldn’t take too long.
We found out that we will be having a little girl! Her name will be Abigail! We also found out that there are some complications with the pregnancy but we are taking it day by day and trying to figure out what is going on. Hopefully this little on in my tummy will be a fighter like us!
Casey is almost done in Memphis. He is actually home for the next few weeks which is very nice. He has been doing such a good job down there. It makes me so proud of him. One day he will be BIG TIME! Lol. I got a new position as well. I will still be an admin but I will be the admin of our President of Sucralose (Splenda and sweeteners). I will have a lot more responsibility and a lot more visibility. I am looking forward to the move.
Well our next Doctor Apt. is Monday June 1st so I will update you on Abigail. Keep us in your thoughts!

UPDATES
Well it has been awhile since we have updated our life story. As of today I am 17 wks and 5 days Pregnant. We get to find out the sex of the baby on May 4th so mark your calendars! Casey is sure it is a boy but a part of me is hoping it is a girl, but either way we just want him or her to be healthy... and hey if first you don't succeed try try try again right???
My Parents will be here on April 30th until May 5th so they will get to be here for the big unveiling! I am so excited to show them the house. My dad hasn't been down yet and my mom hasn't seen it since we have made some updates. Speaking of updates we know have carpet in our upstairs!! Thank god the hideous stairs are covered and they look great! The Baby's room is primed and ready for pink or blue.. well it will probably be a green color but I need to find bedding before painting and I can't do that until I know! All you people out there who like to be surprised.. HOW? I'd be so unprepared! More power to you!
Well I will be signing in again soon with our baby update!

Little one Cooking

Well I am guessing everyone knows by now but Casey and I are expecting and we couldn’t be happier… or nervous!!! I found out January 12th that we’re going to be parents. After doing the home test Casey wanted to confirm it with a blood test so off I went on Monday. We were so excited that we didn’t wait for the results the next day.. We actually picked them up that night ourselves!! I had my 8 week apt on Feb. 11th and we actually got to see the little burger. It looked like a bean.. just laying there with a little heartbeat! Then we just had our 12 week apt. on March 12th and it actually looks like a little baby! Its heartbeat was at 165 BPM and it measured at 12 weeks 4 days. The doctor is still keeping my due date at Sept. 24th though. Our next apt is April 9th and we will get to hear the heartbeat! We are not as patient as Mandi and Lindy are…we will be finding out the sex probably around the beginning of May so get excited! We are also very excited to be Aunt and Uncle again to little Ethan Paul! They sure do make beautiful babies! Well more next time!
PS Can you tell Casey is hoping for a boy! Not sure if that picture shows the truth!

GULF SHORES!
Well I am sad to say that we are back in Decatur with 20 degree temperatures! It wasn't even a week ago that we were enjoying the up 60s and sunshine in Gulf Shores. It just made me that more excited to retire. I know we have a long ways but now I have something to look forward too!
We left Wednesday evening and drove to Franklin, TN and stayed at a La Quinta Hotel. It was about a 6 hour drive and we pulled in around 11:30 pm. We took showers and it was bed time! We got back on the road at about 7 am and reached Gulf Shores around 3pm. We pulled to to sunshine! We unpacked and then had a nice walk on the beach! Talk about some soft sand! That night we went to dinner at a cute place called Live Bait. Everyone except me had a shrimp poor boy! I just can't get pass the poop in shrimp! I was a good sport and tried a bit of Casey's. It was better then expected!
The next day the guys went golfing and us women went where else.... shopping! They have a huge outlet mall that had some great deals.. Casey scored! That evening we went to dinner at a place called Lambert's.. it is the home of the throwing rolls. They literately throw rolls at you. If you are hungry and want some good ol' home cooking this is the place to go! They come by with all kinds a things that you can add to your plate! Needless to say we all came home with half of our dinner!
The next morning it was a bit rainy so we went out for breakfast at a cute local place called Ducky's. It was Great! That evening we went to Lulu's which is Jimmy Buffet's sister's place. They were having a very cute Valentines Day Celebration. Karen and Randy renewed their vows here! It was a great place and we loved to go back. After this we went to the Barbra Baily Hutchinson concert. It was cute and entertaining. We of coursed stopped for ice cream after wards and heading home to watch Saturday Night Live!
We decided to leave Sunday afternoon because the thought of 13 straight hours of driving on Monday and work on Tuesday just didn't' sound like a good idea. One the way back we stopped at a Go Kart place and rode two different Go kart Tracks! The second one was AMAZING! It was right off of Mario Kart! I'd love to do that one again. Just a side note.. I beat Casey both times! Lets not let him live that one down!
All in all it was a great trip and we can see why Randy and Karen are Snowbirds. We'd love to go back again!

Honey Do List
Well we had a pretty productive weekend this weekend! We went over to a co-workers house two weeks ago and they bought their house about the same time we bought ours and I felt like they did so much more to there house. So it got me back into the "working on the house" mode! I finally painted the downstairs hallway that has had the blue tape on the celling for about 4 months! Then I took the top half of our cabinets down and painted them white and spray painted the hardware a hammered nickle color! They don't look half bad.. Better then they did before but it is sure bright in there now! Casey finished up some electrical work in the Kitchen and hallway and finally hung our dust buster and fire extinguisher! He made sure I new how to use it, in case my cooking goes up in flames. Then he cleaned the grout in the bathroom and plans to finally seal it this week. Also this week he is going to finish up our baseboards! Like I said pretty productive.. let's hope it stays for at least one more weekend or I will only have half my cabinets painted. I'll post some pictures when they are finish!! Wish us luck!

Casey's Thumb

Well this past Wednesday Casey and I got to spend some quality time at the ER. Yes you read it right the ER! He almost made it a year without having to go back. If you don't remember we were there last February when Casey got his earphone piece stuck in his ear. Well this time we were there because he sliced his finger with a bread knife. He ended up having to get 7 stitches, and I will tell you what... I did not envy him at all. The shot they gave him to numb the thumb was inside of the cut! You can only imagine how bad it must have hurt! Besides a long trip to the ER nothing much more has happened this week. So next time you are with Casey and he goes for a knife.. do me a favor and give him a plastic one!
